Our missions and values

For 30 years, Afev has been creating connections between campuses and disadvantaged areas by developing solidarity programs where thousands of students get involved helping local children, teenagers and residents. While always adapting to social changes and issues, Afev rests on 4 pillars that ground its uniqueness and commitment to solidarity :

  • Take action against social and educational inequality
  • Get students involved in community service programs
  • Create conditions ideal for engaging volunteer students, thanks to dedicated permanent staff all over the country.
  • Lead advocacy campaigns focused on educational inequality and youth commitment, aimed at the general public and decision-makers.

Our special nonprofit partners

No fight is won alone, and that is especially true about the fight against inequality. Working with others, building Afev’s actions with other educational and social players, reflecting on its programs in a spirit of synergy are all essential to create a meaningful impact. These beliefs push Afev to collaborate especially with the following social economy players :

  • The Mentoring Collective

Le Collectif Mentorat was initiated by Afev and seven other organizations in September 2019

  • Socrate

Socrate is like Afev’s younger sister. It was created in 2001 and helps pupils in difficulty from 3rd to 9th grade thanks to the involvement of volunteer high school students

  • Résid’UP

Resid’UP is a young nonprofit organization, born in September 2021, which develops dynamic and civic house shares for students and young learners in social housing areas.
